BIOGRAPHY
As one of the nation’s greatest up and coming Gospel Choirs, True Purpose stands to empower our community, the gospel music industry and the Body of Christ. Being divinely orchestrated by God and birthed through the mind, heart, and soul of our Founder, Minister Meachum L. Clarke, True Purpose is a unparallel cornucopia of uniquely anointed, skilled, and charismatic psalmists, minstrels, and worshippers partnering to create a clear atmosphere of worship, ascribing to the excellence of God’s Glory, while blending the art of music with the anointing of ministry.
True Purpose takes serious the impact music has on both the believer and the non-believer. “We don’t just sing for entertainment. We sing to encourage those in despair, empower those with challenges, and evoke the GREATNESS of GOD inside of each person” says Meachum L. Clarke.
Although this musical aggregate has ministering among platforms with recording artists, such as Kirk Franklin, MaryMary, CeCe Winans, Kierra “KiKi” Sheard, Jonathan McReynolds, Ricky Dillard, Sherri Jones-Moffit, Lowell Pye, Tasha Cobbs, Vashawn Mitchell, Kim Burrell, Chrystal Rucker, Leon Timbo, Jonathan Nelson, John P. Kee, Crystal Aiken, and has been featured at Hezekiah Walker’s CHOIR FEST at the Stellars, the UniverSOUL Circus and every morning on Channel 4 WJXT, our existence is grounded in HUMILITY and SERVICE. “While others crave the lights, big stages, and industry networking platforms, our ictus is simple: PEOPLE. Without the support of the community, local churches, and the hearts of the people… OUR LABOR WOULD BE SELFISH and IN VAIN…” says the founder.
The magnitude of membership consists of a multiplicity of diversely talented individuals. While we are all flawed and imperfect vessels, our PASSION for CHRIST, our PURSUIT of PURPOSE, and our LOVE for God’s People remains as PRIORITY. Because of that, this musical family, comprised of 40+ singers and musicians, is sure to amaze and captivate you with its powerhouse sound, high energy, musical excellence, community involvement, and spiritual sensitivity.
